Schneider Weisse

Schneider Weisse is one of Bavaria’s most iconic wheat‑beer breweries, founded in 1872 when Georg Schneider acquired the rights to brew Weissbier — a style that had previously been reserved for Bavarian royalty. That moment shaped the brewery’s identity: Schneider became the guardian of traditional Bavarian wheat beer, and to this day the family continues to brew Weissbier with a depth, complexity, and character that few others match.

Their beers are defined by expressive yeast, rich wheat malt, and a fuller, more robust profile than the lighter, smoother Weissbiers from Erdinger or Maisel. Schneider Weisse Original (TAP7) is the heart of the brewery: dark amber, layered with banana, clove, caramelised malt, and a long, satisfying finish. They also produce stronger, more intense variants like Aventinus (TAP6), the legendary Weizenbock that delivers deep fruit, spice, and warming strength, as well as modern interpretations such as Hopfenweisse (TAP5), which blends Weissbier tradition with assertive hop character.

Schneider’s identity is built on heritage, family ownership, and an unwavering commitment to Weissbier as a serious, expressive beer style. Where many breweries treat wheat beer as light and easygoing, Schneider treats it as a canvas for depth, intensity, and tradition — making them one of the most distinctive voices in Bavarian brewing.
