Brasserie d’Orval

Brasserie d’Orval is one of Belgium’s most distinctive Trappist breweries, producing a single beer that has earned legendary status among enthusiasts. Brewed within the Abbey of Notre‑Dame d’Orval since 1931, Orval reflects monastic values of precision, patience, and quiet innovation, resulting in a profile unlike any other Trappist ale.

Orval is defined by its dry, complex, and beautifully aromatic character. Pale malts, European hops, and Brettanomyces yeast create layers of citrus, herbal bitterness, subtle fruit, and a signature earthy, wild note that evolves over time. Fresh bottles are bright and hop‑forward, while aged Orval develops deeper funk, dryness, and refined complexity.
